The Gary Project
A Christian ministry · Florida

We stand withthe men the worldgave up on.

The Gary Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry in Florida, focused on recidivism and rehabilitation. It disciples men inside the state's prisons, walks the changed ones home, and reaches young people before prison ever does. It began with one life, Gary Farrington's, and grew into a whole work.

The three pillars of the work

I

The ministry Gary leads inside

Behind the razor wire, Gary is pastoring men the world gave up on. We put the study in their hands and the discipleship at their backs, for the ones still inside and the ones getting ready to come home.

II

His testimony, carried to the young

Every young man who hears where Gary has been, and what Christ did there, is a young man who might never have to learn it the hard way. We carry his story to them before the world does.

III

The safety net waiting on the outside

A man can be made new inside and still walk out into nothing. We stand behind the faith-based homes that catch him: a place to land, people who know the road, and the grace to grow.

We operate like the miracle
has already happened.

Under Florida law, clemency is the only door left to Gary. We are not waiting anxiously at it. We believe the miracle is already settled in heaven, and that the Lord is preparing Gary to reach a million hearts on the day he walks out. We simply live like that day is coming.

Gary is the doorway. The ministryis the house.

Gary Lee Farrington Jr. is why we started. He went in at nineteen, for a crime he has never once denied. Then, in a solitary cell on November 30, 2007, Christ met him, and the man who came out of that cell was not the man who went in. Florida has no way to recognize a thing like that. We do. His story is the door we walked through to find a whole house waiting on the other side: the men beside him, the men coming home, the children who never have to start down his road at all. We stand with Gary. And the work he opened is far bigger than his own freedom. He would tell you that first.
